Theatre for Young Audiences
Inspired by British pantomime, Carly’s works take classic fairy tales or original stories and weaves them with double layered humor for children and adults, pop songs, upbeat choreography and physical comedy for a theatrical experience that delights audiences of all ages.
From 2021-2025 Carly was a part of the Theatre for Young Audiences company at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT which officially closed its doors in 2026. During her time with DCT, she worked as an actor, choreographer, director, writer, and producer on up to 20 productions (both TYA and book musicals for the mainstage) in four productive years. Following are examples of her work, including original writing and adapted works.
A clever adaptation of the beloved Winnie the Pooh stories. This heartwarming tale follows a teenage Christopher Robin on the night before he leaves for college. As he enters into the Hundred Acre Wood to say his goodbyes, he unexpectedly reunites with his friends for one last adventure. Along the way, he learns that growing up doesn’t mean leaving everything behind — because true friends stay with you, no matter where life takes you.

In this original holiday adventure, a young Christopher Kringle meets a mischievous gingerbreadman with a secret plan to ruin Christmas. With the help of two plucky elves and an expecting Mrs. K, the race is on to save Christmas and deliver the presents on time! A dastardly snowstorm, a botched toy-wrapping machine, and a hair-raising mad dash through NYC on Christmas Eve makes us see that even the most unexpected detours can lead to the heart of the holiday.

Cinderella meets the story of the Prince and the Pauper in this modern adaptation of a classic fairytale. In this version, Cinderella meets her “girl boss” Fairy Godmother, the Prince gets a life swap, and everyone’s dreams come true to the tune of 2000s pop hits. Though we may not have a pumpkin, we do get a Barbie dream car.

This classic fairytale gets a new hero! In a brand new version, Sleeping Beauty takes fate into her own hands. A young girl and her bow and arrow brave the unknown to follow her heart. A Prince, his “trusty steed” and a couple of fairies mount an epic escape mission to save her life from an evil curse. This is a dragon-sized “tail” where true love, bravery, and magic team up to save the kingdom.
